GigRentals materials are product templates for an application process. They are not legal, tax, or insurance advice. A California attorney and a licensed broker must review any live program. Quotes are estimates. Applications are not offers. Inspection, underwriting, match, and countersignature are required before any vehicle changes hands.

How it works

Two doors. One per-trip policy.

GigRentals LLC is a California marketplace and insurance intermediary. We help owners stand up their own rideshare-rental business, and we match people who want to learn gig driving with those cars. We do not take title, do not employ drivers, and we are not the named insured on the per-trip binder.

Owners

Start your own rideshare rental company

  • You are the company

Title stays with you. We are the storefront, match, and insurance intermediary — not Hertz.

  • Inspect + tracker

Nineteen-point check, VIN vs title, hardwired GPS. No listing until both clear.

  • Per-trip binder

Every booking calls Lula, Tint, or ABI. You are additional insured / loss payee. We are not on the master book.

  • Possession window

Minute-stamped unlock, start, and stop under CA Ins. Code § 11580.24. Claims go to the carrier.

Drivers

Rent a car. Learn to gig.

  • Learn the gig

Identity + MVR first. Then a car, a seat, and how Uber / Lyft / DoorDash actually pay you.

  • You are named insured

The binder is in your name. Optional collision. $249 deposit hold on Stripe — not a wallet we keep.

  • Eight-angle walkaround

Corners, odometer, cabin/fuel, hashed. Same pack at return. That is the claims file.

  • Apps stay yours

We do not dispatch rides. Period 3 is the TNC’s policy. Keep their insurance card uploaded.

CRT state machine

Nothing skips the binder

Hold-harmless is signed at checkout. Possession cannot start until the policy is bound and the photo pack is hashed. We do not sit as HyreCar did on a master commercial book.

  1. 1

    Requested

    Driver asks for the car.

  2. 2

    Driver verified

    Persona/Jumio + Checkr MVR.

  3. 3

    Policy bound

InsurTech binder. Named insured = driver.

  4. 4

    Pre-trip photos

Eight angles. No keys before this.

  5. 5

    Active rental

    Unlock timestamp = control shift.

  6. 6

    Post-trip photos

    Same eight angles + odometer.

  7. 7

    Policy terminated

Binder ends. Deposit released or claim routed.

Canceled is allowed only before the car is live. After unlock, the path is inspect → terminate.
